Pre
Season training is going well with a nucleus
who have and are preparing very well. We
have been hampered by the normal absences
because of holidays. Those players who
followed part of the pre season training
schedule have clearly benefitted. Generally
the squad is in far better shape than last
year. There are a number of potential new
players training with the squad and all
are adapting well.
The trip to Barnstaple will be the first
measure of how the team is developing although
there will be a number of absences for
that trip. The team will leave early 6.00a.m
Saturday 23rd August and return late Sunday
24th August. The following Saturday we
will entertain Llanngennech at Kidwelly.
The
video analysis softwear has been trialled
and will be in operation from the start
of the season. We are very fortunate that
in Lynn Price we have someone with good
rugby knowledge and coaching skills and
is an IT expert, he has led the trialling
of the Sideline video softwear
analyser.
The changing rooms have been refurbished.
The walls are now amber and black and there
are plans for action photos of current
players to be displayed on the walls.
New Captain Stuart Morris and new Vice
Captain Chris Cray are taking their new
responsibilities well and the players are
responding.
Training has been supported by Elaine,
a martial arts expert. Her drills and
practices have been a welcome addition.
We have also been assisted by last and
this seasons physio Dave who is opening
a new Gym in Burry Port and has been helping
with fitness. He will now concentrate on
helping with strength training. Players
have been very impressed with his approach
and knowledge.
I would like players to take a confident
and positive attitude into the new season
in the knowledge that they CAN win all
games and consider that they are
as good as their best game NOT their
last game.
